Questions

What bid committees ask us

Do you bid public work?

Yes. Send the invitation to bid and we answer every item in it. If it asks for a bid bond, a certificate of insurance or a signed form, they go in the package.

What do you need to write a bid?

The kind of building, the roof area (a guess is fine), what is wrong or planned, and the date bids are due. We confirm everything when we walk the roof.

Can you work around our calendar?

Yes. School years, services and events decide when the roof can be open. The dates go in the bid, and we settle them at the pre-construction meeting.

Do you only replace roofs?

No. We repair first when a repair makes sense, and we say so in writing when it does not.

Which licenses and certifications do you hold?

They are listed in the footer of every page, with the board that issued each one. If your invitation asks for one we do not list, ask before you bid.

Who pulls the permit?

The bid says whether the permit is ours or yours. It depends on the work and on your city or county.

What kinds of roof do you work on?

Flat and low-slope roofs in single-ply membrane and modified bitumen, metal panel roofs, and steep shingle roofs on sanctuaries and older buildings. The roof walk decides which fits yours.

What warranty comes with a roof?

Two papers, kept apart. The roofing manufacturer warrants the material. We warrant our workmanship. Each bid states the years, what is covered, what is not and who to call.

Do you carry insurance and bonds?

The certificates go with the bid, and a bond is included when the invitation asks for one. The record is in the footer of every page.

What happens if it rains in the middle of a job?

Open sections are dried in before the crew leaves each day, and the bid says how. A forecast that rules out safe work moves the day, and we call you.

Will you meet our insurance adjuster?

If you ask, yes. You decide whether to file a claim and you deal with your insurer. We are not a public adjuster. We inspect, photograph and write an itemized estimate you can share.

Can I text you photos of the roof?

Yes. Text them to (334) 555-0100 with the building name and address. Photos help us plan the roof walk; they do not replace it.

Something we did not answer?

Call or send the form. A person reads it.
